TeamViewer & AnyDesk alternative

For unattended devices, a remote desktop is the wrong shape.

Tools like TeamViewer and AnyDesk are built around a person watching a screen and clicking. Device fleets need the opposite: scripted, automatable access to many machines — and to the other devices on their LAN.

Short answer: Remote-desktop tools such as TeamViewer and AnyDesk are GUI-first, priced per seat, and reach a single host. ProxyPass gives you scriptable access — CONNECT proxy, REST bridge and WebDAV — to the whole LAN behind each node, priced per node, with no inbound port on the customer side.

Where a remote-desktop tool still makes sense

If a human needs to sit in front of one machine and drive its desktop — ad-hoc support of an attended PC, walking a user through something — a remote-desktop tool is purpose-built for that and hard to beat.

ProxyPass is for fleets of unattended devices where you want to automate: push a config to 40 sites, pull diagnostics from 200 machines, script a firmware check across everything.

How ProxyPass does it instead

One outbound-only node per site exposes everything on that LAN to your tooling. RDP into a player when you do need a screen — but also curl a device's REST API, SSH a box, or mount its files, all through the same node, all scriptable. You pay per node, not per technician, so adding teammates costs nothing.
